Industrial Products For SaleCT-24 Cable and Wiring Harness Tester The CT-24 Cable Tester is a good alternative to high end cable testers for users who need simple incoming inspection or production verification of cables and wiring harnesses without logging, reports and other advanced features. It supports simultaneous 24 conductor testing of continuity and short circuits. There is NO PC or software required, so there is no possibility of operating system crashes or wasted time troubleshooting/upgrading software or hardware. The CT-24 is ready to work seconds after it is powered.
Each conductor is represented by a RED/GREEN pass/fail LED, visible through the clear protective covering. A RED light indicates failure, either an open conductor or a short to another conductor. In the case of a short circuit, a RED light would illuminate for each shorted conductor. All combinations of conductors are tested for short circuits. Tests of asymmetric and multiple-connector cables is possible using the CT-24 with suitable adapters. The CT-24 tests cables in less than a second. The pass/fail LEDs and wiring blocks are numbered prominently to allow a technician to determine the failing conductor(s) quickly. The CT-24 is a great inspection tool for purchased cables, and can be used on the production floor to test chassis and harness wiring. The connectors on the CT-24 are standard wiring terminal blocks. Mating blocks are used to make cable adapters with connectors matable to your harness, cable or system. The picture above shows two USB adapter cables that we constructed for an incoming inspection application. This approach using cable adapters is good for users with varied, odd, or low volume testing needs. It is a simple matter to construct a set of adapter cables with commonly available terminal blocks. The test is always running in the CT-24, so there is no "start test" pushbutton. This permits greater throughput by the test operator. Once the connectors are mated, the lights quickly show the status of the cable. Multiple cables may also be tested by the CT-24, to the limit of its capacity, 24 conductors. Two or three test operators may use the CT-24 at the same time to test low conductor count cables, for example. A sturdy anodized aluminum base plate provides a strain relief bar for the adapter cables, or you can mount mating connectors on brackets (not provided) and attach them to the base plate in pre-drilled holes. The CT-24's aluminum base plate may be bolted to a work surface as well. The CT-24 provides a general purpose cable test solution that is suitable for production and incoming inspection use without breaking the bank.
